2016 Winner Announced
We have a winner for the 2016 Neerim District Community Bank Art Prize - Neerim Bower Acquisition, artist Nicole Allen for her sculpture 'Astro Boy'. The sculpture will be acquired and installed in the Neerim South township.
Artists Statement:
Ever since man first saw a bird flying above, he's wondered what it would be like? Since then he's tried everything to fly.
He's jumped off cliffs, built balloons, planes and even spaceships.
But one thing he can't do is grow wings. Or can he?
'So weird, in such a lovely way! It’s dynamic and fits the criteria well. Tactile, beautifully made – interactive, you want to touch it. Love the boots with her name in the round. It’s fun and playful. We loved it'.

Neerim District Community Bank Art Prize - Neerim Bower Acquisition
The Neerim District Progress Association Inc. is excited to announce that we will be holding the second Neerim District Community Bank Art Prize – Neerim Bower Acquisition in Neerim South in October 2016.
An exhibition of the shortlisted entries to the competition will be held in the township of Neerim South commencing on the 14th of October and ending on the 6th of November 2016.
The aim of this exhibition is to acquire one or more sculptural pieces for installation in the township of Neerim South, it is sponsored by The Neerim District Community Bank with an acquisitive first prize of up to $10,000.
This year there will also be a People’s Choice Award of $500.
Reflecting the theme of ‘’Inspired by Birds’’, the sculpture show is a biennial event held by The Neerim District Progress Association Inc. (NDPA), to acquire a collection of public art to be displayed throughout our town, a part of the legacy of the ‘’Neerim Bower – Inspired by Birds’’ Small Town Transformation.
Due to work commitments Esther Anotolitis is not available to judge the Neerim District Community Bank Art Prize - Neerim Bower Acquisition,
